Normally during the summer term, we would be out and about on school visits bringing children closer to nature. Helping children to learn all about their local river or stream and all the amazing creatures that live there.

We all know that this year is a little different, but we didn’t want you to miss out so we’re bringing the river to you with our Mayfly in the Classroom project.
Watch the video to see our project officer, Gail showing you how you can do your own version of the Wild Trout Trust’s Mayfly project at home. You can then see what to do when the adult emerges

Our Home Learning Project Guide gives more information about Mayflies and lots of extra fun project ideas.
This fascinating, curriculum-linked project is usually aimed at primary school aged children learning about life cycles, adaptation, habitats and food chains. All of our activities can be enjoyed by all the family.
